Responsibilities:
- Supervise a team of content creators, editors, and analysts, ensuring tasks are delegated effectively.
- Foster a collaborative environment through regular team meetings, performance reviews, and mentorship.
- Develop and execute a content roadmap in line with organizational goals.
- Identify new sports and markets for potential coverage growth, assessing feasibility and impact.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align on strategic direction, ensuring content efforts support overall objectives.
- Oversee the sports content back office, including data integrity, accuracy, and content workflows.
- Ensure process optimization in data input, editing, and distribution activities.
- Maintain high-quality standards by establishing clear guidelines and reviewing output consistently.
- Set priorities and deadlines to ensure timely and accurate content deployment.
- Track progress and performance, providing feedback and support where necessary.
- Monitor content performance metrics and team productivity, using data-driven insights to refine strategies.
- Conduct market research to spot trends and opportunities for content expansion.
- Generate regular reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting successes, challenges, and proposed solutions.
Requirements
- 5+ years in sports content or a related domain, with at least 2–3 years in a managerial role.
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Sports Management, Communications, or a related field.
- Proven ability to lead diverse teams and motivate staff toward common goals.
- Demonstrable experience in planning content strategy, exploring new markets, and coordinating cross-functional projects.
- Comfortable with metrics and analytical tools to measure content effectiveness and drive improvements.
- Skilled at managing multiple priorities, tight deadlines, and a dynamic content calendar.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present insights to varied audiences.
